Blogmas Day 10: What I'm Most Thankful For In 2015

Hey guys! So I'm still in the process of catching up but I'm working on it. I hope you like the new look of the blog as well. This post is about what I'm most thankful for in 2015.

#1:
My Family

This is probably an obvious one. But I am grateful for my family. I'm lucky to not only have two loving parents but I also have my birth father, his wife, and my dad's girlfriend in my life. I also have seven siblings that I'm thankful in addition to my dad's girlfriend's three kids (although I only really know two of them.

#2
My Friends

I am so lucky ti have such amazing friends. To the one I met my senior year of high school to the one I just met on Saturday. Mikayla, Angie U., Julia, Tiff, Aeriel, Chey. I am so grateful to all of you.

#3
My House

I know not everyone is lucky enough to have a house so I'm grateful for my house and having a roof over my head.

What are you grateful for this year?

Blogmas Day 9: Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

I'll admit that I haven't written to you in years. And it's not something I thought I'd do again to be honest. Well except for helping my (future) kids when they're little but then it wouldn't be for me it would be for them. Anyways, obviously there are still some material things I'd like so I guess I'll start with those. I'd love a puppy. I know that sounds very childish but I'd still love a puppy. My dream puppy is a pomsky which is a pomeranian husky mix and they are adorable. But any puppy would be great.

I'd also love some name brand makeup. More specifically I'd like Hoola from Benefit. Every one says it's such a great bronzer and I'd just like to try it for myself. I'd also like the Naked 2 palette by Urban Decay. I really like the color in the palette. Honestly there is just so much name brand makeup I'd like to try that I can't name it all so I'll just name some brands: Benefit, MAC, Nars, Urban Decay, and Gerard Cosmetics to name a few.

I'd also like a MacBook. I'd one for my blog and for school since I'd like to start college in the fall. So a MacBook would be really useful. One more material thing I'd really like is a Nikon D3300 camera. It's a nice digital camera and I'd really like to get into photography. Now the rest of I want I want is for my family and friends.

I want them to be happy and healthy. I want them to be safe. I want them to have everything they need to survive and more. I also want the people of the world to be safe. There is so much violence and hate and war in the world right now and it is awful.

Well, I think that's everything. Merry Christmas Santa.

Kylee

Blogmas Day 8: Christmas Tag!

Hey guys! So as I explained in the day seven post I'm so sorry that this post is so late. You can see my explanation in the previous post. Anywho, today's post is the Christmas tag! I'm going to be doing the questions that Zoella and ThatcherJoe did on Zoe's channel a few years ago. I just really liked those questions. So I will link their video at the end so you can watch it if you'd like.

Question 1: When do you start getting excited for Christmas?

To be honest the past couple years I haven't been too into Christmas. I think it's because I was like very depressed whether I realized it or not. But this year I started getting excited around the beginning of December. I think part of it is because I'm actually happy this year. Also because with my job I can buy Christmas presents for people this year.

Question 2: Do you still have an advent calendar?

No I don't. But next year I want to buy one for myself and I'd love a beauty advent calendar from like Benefit or something.

Question 3:  What are your favorite Christmas films?

I answered this already in my blogmas day two post. So I'll link that below for you. But as a breif overview my three favorite Christmas films are Elf, How The Grinch Stole Christmas (Jim Carrey version), and The Year Without A Santa Claus.

Question 4: Do you have any funny Christmas Stories?\

Okay so I don't have any funny Christmas stories but I do have a remember-able Christmas Eve story. So I was in elementary school (I don't remember the age) and we were going to my aunt's house. I didn't feel well but we still went just to see everyone because we don't see that part of the family a lot. We got there and I kind of just laid on the couch. I was tired and felt sick and I wanted to go home. My parents made me try to eat some food. Basically I got sick (threw up) at my family Christmas party.  I was given a bath there and put in pajamas then we left the party early before Santa stopped by.

Question 5: Talk us through your typical Christmas Day.

My typical Christmas Day changed when my parents separated when I was in seventh grade. So I'll tell you what we've done since then. My siblings and I wake up early and go downstairs but we can't open our presents until our mom wakes up. We wake her up around 8 in the morning. She comes down stairs and gets her coffee, some trash bags, her camera, and puts breakfast (usually some sort of casserole) in the oven, Then finally after all of that waiting we can finally start opening things. We always start with going through our stockings. Then once we all finish that, we begin opening our presents. There isn't really any sort of organization to this we just all open our presents. Once my siblings and I are done my mom goes through her stocking and open her presents. After all the gifts are open we have breakfast and get ready for the day. Then around ten my dad picks us up and we go to his house and open presents there. My dad has since moved in with his girlfriend so there is some kind of order to opening presents there. They hide a little pickle ornament and the first person to find it gets to open the first present. Fun fact my little sister has been the first person to find it two years in a row. We usually hang at my dad's for a little bit then we go home. After a few hours my grandma comes over and we open the presents from her and have Christmas dinner.

Question 6: What do you eat for Christmas?

This year we're having ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, rolls, green bean casserole, green beans, and gravy.

Question 7: Do you have any Christmas traditions?

Every Christmas Eve we go to my aunt's (on my dad's side) house. We see our cousins and have dinner. Santa comes, reads a story and all of the kids get one present. Then we go home and lay out cookies and milk for Santa then go to bed. In the morning we do what I said in question 5.

Question 8: What are your favorite Christmas songs?

I actually have a blog post about this planned but one of them is Grownup Christmas List by Kelly Clarkson.

Question 9: What is the best Christmas present you've ever received?

There is a toss up for this answer. Two years ago I got a trip to Disney World for the next Thanksgiving. It was an amazing present. Then last year I got an IPhone 6, phone service, and tickets to a Taylor Swift concert.

Question 10: Real or fake Christmas tree?

We have a fake tree but I definitely prefer real trees.

I hope you liked this post! I had fun answering these questions. And I'll link Zoe's video for you guys!

Blogmas Day 6: Starting Work

Welcome to blogmas day 6 guys! Tomorrow is my first day of work ever. I mean I've babysat before but I've never had a real job. I'm going to be cashier at Giant which is a food store where I live. I did my training on the computer last week and tomorrow is my first day actually on the register. I'm excited but I'm also nervous. The first day of something is always nerve wracking though I guess.  I have an eight hour shift tomorrow then a four hour shift on Wednesday and another four hour shift on Friday. I really hope this job works out well. Writing is definitely my passion but I have to work so I can go to college to become a better writer. What was your first job? Comment below!

I'm sorry today's post is so short. I had a longer post planned but I was spending time with my dad today and with starting work tomorrow I didn't want to be up super late. I'm planning a question and answer post in a couple weeks so comment your questions below and I'll answer them!

Blogmas Day 5: Decorating The Christmas Tree

Welcome to blogmas day 5! Today, we decorated our Christmas tree. When I was younger I used to love doing this. But in recent years it's seemed more of a task then a fun thing to do with my family. Maybe it's because as you get older Christmas starts to lose it's magic. Or maybe it's because as I've gotten older my relationship with my family has gotten more and more distant. Maybe it's a combination of both. Either way the past few years I haven't really enjoyed decorating the tree. My family doesn't get a real tree anymore although we used to when I was younger. Our tree doesn't have a theme. We have a collection of ornaments that have been gathered over the years. Personally I would rather a themed tree. I just think that they look nicer. But I can do that when I get my own place hopefully within the next few years.
Our tree does look nice though. My favorite ornament is a wooden Ariel (The Little Mermaid) one that I got for Christmas last year. The Little Mermaid is my favorite princess movie and Ariel is my favorite Disney princess. I also have some cheerleading ornaments that I love since cheerleading was such a big part of my life for about half my life so far. Every year we put an angel on as the tree topper. I remember we used to have this Santa head as a tree topper and it was really creepy. I found it so creepy to me that my parents bought the angel topper.

Blogmas Day 2: My Favorite Christmas Movies

It's that time of year again when the same Christmas movies that we've grown up with are played on TV once again. I have seen many of them multiple times and by now I know which ones are my favorite. So below are my three favorites and why I love them.

My first is How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000). But not the cartoon version. I like the version with Jim Carrey and Taylor Momsen. I like this version because to me it is funnier but it also has one of my all time favorite Christmas songs, Where Are You Christmas?

My second favorite movie is Elf (2003). I love this movie so much. I know it's not a traditional Christmas movie but I love it so much. It is so funny and it always puts me in the holiday mood.

My final favorite Christmas movie is A Year Without A Santa Claus (1974). I've only recently rediscovered my love for this movie and I must admit I haven't seen it for a few years. But I'm looking forward to seeing it this year. My favorite bit the Miser brothers.
